Mikaela Fischer – 1st year consultant

Mikaela is a 1st year graduate student from Goodwin, South Dakota. She completed her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology with an Exercise Science specialization, from the University of South Dakota. Her sports background includes playing basketball at the high school and collegiate level, coaching basketball at the AAU level, and working as a sports medicine aide in the USD athletic training room. She was also the women’s basketball team manager at USD. Mikaela is considering earning her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or Sport/Exercise Psychology. She aspires to be a clinical sport psychologist or professor, and is interested in mental health and gender stereotypes within sport and exercise psychology. For her capstone project, she would like to complete a manuscript.
